Booking

When is the final payment due?
The final payment is due one week before your event. In some cases, I will accept checks at the event.
Can you provide us with references?
Yes. When asked for references, I always give my potential clients the contact information for the last three weddings that I preformed at.
May we meet you in person before we sign a contract?
Yes. If you are going to be in the area and want to meet and discuss your wedding with me prior to booking, you may contact me at 540-578-0292 or email me at djyourwedding@aol.com to setup a time/date.
Do you offer a written contract?
Yes. A contract is created during the booking process online. Please print this contract out, sign it and mail it back to us at: King Studios 14 Landover Lane Weyers Cave, VA 24486
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes. King Studios accepts all major credit cards. You can make a payment at anytime by going to our homepage (www.djyourwedding.com) and clicking on the credit card logos. Visa, Mastercard and Discover is accepted online. American Express can be processed over the phone.
Is a deposit required to book your services?
Yes. A non-refundable $199 deposit is require to reserve your wedding date.
Does King Studios charge an additional fee to travel outside the area?
There is no travel fee if your event location is within a 50 mile radius of Weyers Cave, VA. Harrisonburg, Staunton, Waynesboro, Charlottesville, Lexington, New Market, Natural Bridge are all inside our normal travel zone. If your event is in Northern Virginia (Washington DC area) or Richmond, there is an additional $100 travel fee. All other areas are subject to a $1 per mile travel fee.
Are lights included in the quoted price?
Yes! If the event is at night or inside a darken room where lights will show up, King Studios will setup a basic dance floor light package at no addition cost to the Customer. The basic dance floor light package includes LED Lights & Lasers that move to the music.
Does King Studios DJ Services charge for the time that they are setting up or tearing down?
No! Setting up and tearing down are included in our standard package. The Customer is not charged for this time.

DJ

Do I need to provide the DJ with a Table?
No. I bring my own six foot table and black table cloth with special zipper openings on the side to help conceal cables. If you prefer a white table cloth at your wedding or event, you will need to provide one.
Do you set up a sign or banner with your equipment?
No. No signs and no banners will be displayed at your event.
What is your policy on alcohol or smoking during the wedding?
I am a non-smoker and I don't drink alcohol before or during your event.
Have you played at our reception site before?
Chances are yes. For a detailed look at all the places that I have preformed, please take a look at the "about" page.
Do you perform for more than one event in a day?
No. I only DJ one event per day.
How long have you been a DJ and how many weddings have you done?
We have been a Professional DJ since 2003 when we started King Studios. On average, we DJ around 65 weddings each year and have preformed at over 400+ weddings since 2003.
Will you be the DJ at our Wedding?
At King Studios, we have three DJs. At the time of booking you can request which DJ you would like to have at your event. We try our best to honor that request.
Do we meet prior to our Wedding?
Yes. I normally meet with my clients 3-4 weeks before their wedding. If you're local, we can meet in person to discuss your wedding at my office in Waynesboro or at a local coffee shop. If you're out-of-town we can do a conference call to discuss the details of your wedding. I will email my clients about a month before their event to setup a meeting time.
Do you have wireless microphones for the toast?
Yes. In fact, King Studios always provides two wireless microphones for you to use during your event.
Will you handle all the announcements at my Wedding?
Yes. It is customary for the DJ to make all the announcements such as the Bridal Party introduction and announcing the first dance, cake cutting, etc.
Does the DJ wear a Tuxedo?
The DJ will wear a formal suit unless you request in advance for him to wear more or less formal attire. The DJ will arrive 2-3 hours prior to your event start time to setup the equipment in casual clothing. However, the DJ will change into formal attire no less than 30 minutes prior to your start time.
Do I need to Tip the DJ?
While it is common to tip the entertainment industry, it is not mandatory. If the DJ surpasses your expectations a tip would be greatly appreciated.
Should we feed the DJ?
This is another common question. The answer is up to you. It is not required to feed your DJ but keep in mind that King Studios is often at your location for 8 hours or more.
Are you insured?
Yes. Some facilities even require entertainment companies to be fully insured. King Studios is covered by a $2,000,000.00 aggregate liability insurance policy. You and your guests are protected by our service. This gives you the security of knowing that you, your friends, your family and the facility are taken care of by a professional company that cares enough to be prepared.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. Although we use state-of-the-art equipment, we always have back-up equipment onsite.
Do you take breaks?
No. King Studios will perform continuously throughout your event.
Will the DJ stay longer then the contracted time if asked?
Yes! Additional time is billed in half hour increments and is rounded up to the nearest half hour. For example, if you only need 30 minutes, you only need to pay $50.
How early does King Studios arrive to setup at my event?
King Studios DJ Services will arrive between 2-3 hours before your event start time. If you are just needing our standard DJ services (without lighting effects) then we will arrive 2 hours before your event to setup. If you are requesting DJ services with lighting effects or if you need an additional sound system for your ceremony, then we will arrive 3 hours before your event to setup.

Lighting

What is Spotlighting?
These mini spotlights are attached to tall tripods that sit in each corner of the room. These tripods are wrapped with a black drape. You can spotlight your cake, bar, table center pieces, or anything in the room that you want to stand out. Available Color for the spotlight is White.
How much is Spotlighting?
$25 per Spotlight. This includes setup and takedown. These mini spotlights are attached to tall tripods that sit in each corner of the room. These tripods are wrapped with a black drape. Available Color for the spotlight is White.
How much is Uplighting?
Pricing starts at $300 for the first 12 lights. Each additional light is $25/light. This includes setup and takedown. Available Colors are: Blue, Red, Teal, Green, Purple, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Amber, Gold and White.
What is Uplighting?
Uplighting can completely transform a room and add atmosphere and elegance to any event or wedding. These are bright LED lighting units that draw very little power and produce no heat. Normally these lightings are placed on the floor against a wall to create a column of light. Available Uplighting Colors are: Red, Blue, Teal, Purple, Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, and White

Music

How many songs do you have?
We have access to 30 million songs for you to choose from.
Do you take request?
Yes and No. It depends on if you want your guest to make request at your event. As part of the planning process, you get to decide if you will allow your guest to make request or not.
Can we have a “do not play” list?
Yes. Along with picking out the music you want to hear at your event, you can create a "Do Not Play" List to give us a heads up of songs you want to avoid.
Can we choose the music to be played at our event?
Yes! One of the advantages of hiring King Studios to DJ your event is that you are in control. We have designed a state-of-the-art website to make it easy for you to choose your music out online.
